Everything here seems to have stopped time, from the peaceful way of life of the locals to the breathtaking views of the Himalayas. Gue Village Spiti is a place that has a lot to offer, whether you like to explore, learn about history, or get away to the mountains in peace, learning about the unique culture of this place. This blog will help you with all the information you need, such as, its history, best time to visit and many more. So, let us get started with our exploration.

History of Gue Village Himachal Pradesh

Gue Village is in Himachal Pradesh's Spiti Valley, close to the Indo-Tibet border. It is known for its long history and spiritual heritage. People think the village is hundreds of years old and has been home to a small Buddhist community that follows Tibetan Buddhism for a long time.

The most interesting thing about its past is that in the 1970s, an earthquake uncovered an old tomb where the mummy of a Buddhist monk was found. People say this mummy is between 500 and 600 years old, which makes it one of the best-preserved mummies in the world that hasn't been treated with chemicals. People in the area say that the monk was Sangha Tenzin, who gave his life to save the village from a plague. His body naturally mummified while he was meditating deeply.

Gue Village Spiti has become a place of both religious importance and interest over the years. Visiting this place is one of the best things to do in Spiti Valley as people from all over the country come here not just to see the mummy, but also to experience the calm pace of life in the mountains and the quiet strength of the people who live there.
