Should you carry oxygen cans or cylinders on the Leh Ladakh package?
The answer to this question depends on a number of factors. If you are on an expedition, then you would need oxygen canisters with you for your safety and comfort. This is because high altitudes can lead to altitude sickness and there may be times when it is difficult to breathe properly.
What clothes should I carry on a Leh Ladakh trip?
Carrying clothes on a Ladakh trip mainly depends upon the season in which you will be traveling. The winters may have altogether different requirements than summers while the shoulder season months of April to May and September to October may prove to be tricky ones.
The peak season months of late June, July, and August are considered to be pleasant where light woolens mostly do the job for you. In the winter months, when both Manali Leh Highway and Srinagar Leh Highway are closed due to heavy snow, then the conditions are extremely cold.
Hence, in such winter months, very heavy woollens are required to survive on a Leh Ladakh trip. The tricky windows of visiting Ladakh are from April to June and September to October.

Is it necessary that I should be in the proper riding gear?
When you walk into a gym, you will notice that the trainers are wearing proper gear. Yes, it might not seem necessary to wear workout clothes but when you go to the gym and do cycling session, it is a must for your health and fitness. Similarly, it's necessary that you should be in proper biking gear before starting any bike trip.
Riding a bike in the snow or mountain pass is no walk in the park. It takes a lot of grit and determination to do this, but it will be worth it once you make it there. The weather can be unpredictable, so you need to be sure that you are wearing all the right accessories for your journey.
What are the symptoms of High Altitude sickness?
High Altitude sickness (HAS) is a disease that affects the body's ability to cope with high altitude. When you climb to higher altitudes, your air pressure decreases and oxygen becomes less available to your body. This results in symptoms such as fatigue, headaches, dizziness, vomiting and stomach cramps.
Most people suffering from high altitude sickness in Leh Ladakh do not even know they are ill. They suffer from a form of mountain sickness called acute mountain sickness (AMS). AMS occurs due to fluid redistribution and causes headaches, nausea and dizziness. High altitude is characterized by lower air pressure compared to sea level which causes a sudden decrease in concentration of oxygen molecules in the blood reaching the lungs.
How long does it take to get acclimatize in Ladakh?
In Ladakh it takes 1-2 days to acclimate your body to the altitude. The average altitude is 18000 feet above sea level and this can be very challenging for an acclimatized person.
Is a motorcycle rider’s license to participate on Ladakh trip?
If you are planning to go for the Leh Ladakh bike trip with your family and friends and you want to do it legally, then you will have to get yourself a motorcycle rider's license. The number of people who want to go on this trip is increasing every year, which is why it's necessary to take precautions before going on any adventure.
So Yes, a valid full motorcycle driver license (authorizing you to ride a 500cc motorcycle) and international riding permit are mandatory for riders to take part in our tours. However, they are not required for the co-rider on the pillion or passengers travelling in support vehicles.
Also, make sure you obtain the International Driving Permit (IDP) from your country of citizenship since it is not issued to foreigners in India. In due course, you’ll require obtaining a travel insurance which covers you for riding a 500cc motorcycle in India, before joining the tour.
