Srinagar to Leh Distance 

The distance from Srinagar to Leh is approximately 420 kilometers (260 miles) via the Srinagar-Leh Highway. This route is renowned for its breathtaking scenery as it traverses through the majestic Himalayan mountain range. The journey typically takes around 10 to 12 hours by road, depending on weather conditions and road conditions, as the highway is often closed during winter due to heavy snowfall. Travelers can savor the stunning landscapes, including serene lakes, high mountain passes, and pristine valleys, making the drive not just a distance but an unforgettable adventure through the heart of the Himalayas.

Delhi to Leh Distance 

The distance between Delhi to Leh is approximately 1,100 kilometers (684 miles) when measured in a straight line. However, the actual road distance is longer, roughly around 1,600 to 1,700 kilometers (994 to 1,056 miles), depending on the specific route taken. Traveling from Delhi to Leh is an epic journey that usually involves several days of driving through challenging terrain, including high mountain passes and winding roads. The adventure offers travelers a chance to witness diverse landscapes, from the plains of North India to the barren beauty of Ladakh, making it a memorable and rewarding road trip.

Itinerary Breakdown

  • Travellers assemble at the designated pick-up point in Delhi and complete the boarding formalities.

  • Meet the trip captains and fellow participants, followed by a detailed briefing covering safety protocols and trip expectations.

  • Depart from Delhi in a comfortable AC Volvo bus for an overnight journey towards Manali, marking the official start of the Himalayan adventure.

Note: Dinner is not included on this day; travellers are advised to eat beforehand or carry light snacks for the journey.

  • AC Volvo bus from Delhi to Manali (overnight journey).

  • Tempo Traveller transfers from Manali to Srinagar.

  • Drop off at the houseboat in Srinagar.

  • 1-hour Shikara ride on Dal Lake (sharing basis).

Notes
  • INR 3500/- per person extra for double sharing basis.

  • A 450cc bike is also available at an additional cost of ₹9,000

  • INR 5,000/- needs to be submitted as security for the bike before the start of the trip. Any damage to the bike, except engine damage, has to be borne directly by the client.

  • Biking option is available from 30 April onwards, since it’s not safe to ride on the mountain passes during the April month because of Black-ice formation

  • All the riders are required to wear a riding jacket at all the times they are riding the bike, else won’t be permitted to ride the bike.

  • Numerous factors such as weather, road conditions, the physical ability of participants etc. May cause itinerary change. We reserve the rights to change any schedule in the interest of safety, comfort and general wellbeing.

  • The age limit of our group departures is 16 to 45 years due to the power packed itineraries that we provide to our travellers. We can customise trips for travellers beyond the mentioned age bracket as a private trip.
